TOPICS IN LITERARY ANALYSIS. This course
presents ways of understanding and interpreting literature.
It is also an introduction to the main kinds
of writing: fiction, poetry, and drama. Students
learn and develop techniques of analysis so that they
can find meaning in literature; they also learn how
to write critical interpretations of the works they
read. Prerequisite: none. Freshmen and sophomores
only. Offered: each semester.
