The College subscribes to three services to provide performance licensing for music.

  1. ASCAP – American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers
Look for the ‘ACE Title Search’ in the menu, then ‘Click here to Search the Database’.
  2. BMI – Broadcast Music, Inc.
Look for the ‘Search BMI Catalog’  box.
  3. SESAC – Society of European Stage Authors and Composers
Look for ‘Search SESAC’, then ‘Search Our Catalog / SESAC Repertory’.

Any song listed within the above web sites may be used on the College web site.  Appropriate credit should be given to the Artist and the publication listing the song.  Following is an example of a credit in MLA style citing ASCAP music rights:

Bajor, Jim. “Holly and the Ivy.” ASCAP. 8 December 2008. <http://www.ascap.com/ace/search.cfm?requesttimeout=300&mode=results&searchstr=80075629&search_in=i
&search_type=exact&search_det=t,s,w,p,b,v&results_pp=30&start=1
>.

Payment for these services is handled by Brandy Puckett in the Business Office.
