The first, the James R. T. Hewett Biology Award, is given to a biology student who has shown exceptional service to the department and promise in research. \u00a0This year&#8217;s Hewett award was given to Osric Forrest &#8217;12, who will begin his Ph.D. studies at Emory University this fall:<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_689\" style=\"width: 290px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.hsc.edu\/biology\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2012\/05\/convocation-017.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-689\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-689\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.hsc.edu\/biology\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2012\/05\/convocation-017-280x300.jpg\" alt=\"Biology Department representative Dr. Rachel Goodman with Hewett award recipient Osric Forrest '12\" width=\"280\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-689\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Biology Department representative Dr. Rachel Goodman with Hewett award recipient Osric Forrest &#039;12<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The department&#8217;s H.B.
