When you read the <i>Apology<\/i>,\n    ask yourself some of these questions: <br>\n    <br>\n    What are the charges against Socrates?<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-gpp2dat elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"gpp2dat\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>What are Socrates&#8217; main arguments\n    of defense in regard to each charge?<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-zdgpbjh elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"zdgpbjh\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Is this a fair trial? Are the\n    charges legitimate?<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-aeb7aqp elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"aeb7aqp\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Why does he take such care to\n    avoid securing his own acquittal? He could have begged for clemency, used his wife and\n    children to get a pity vote, offered a reasonable alternative sentencing, promised to\n    behave differently. <br>\n    <br>\n    Is he really an example of a man who lived and died by his own philosophy? Or is he a\n    self-appointed martyr? Are they mutually exclusive? <br>\n    <br>\n    Is there virtue in being a martyr? <br>\n    <br>\n    Do you believe that Socrates believes himself no wiser than any other man? What exactly\n    does he mean by that?<br>\n    <br>\n    Does arrogance play a role in Socrates&#8217; behavior? Is that OK?<br>\n    <br>\n    And finally, is retaining one&#8217;s ethical dignity (living by one&#8217;s principles) worth dying\n    for? For Socrates? For you?<br>\n    <br>\n    Socrates himself addresses most of these issues.
