The Corycian Cave, high on the slopes of Mt. Parnassos above Delphi, was sacred in antiquity to Pan and the Corycian Nymphs. Ancient visitors left thousands of votive offerings inside, including clay figurines and inscribed stones, many of which have been recovered by archaeologists. The cave’s approach is a steep, scenic climb through the mountain landscape, past the goat pastures and shepherds’ paths still used by locals today.
